According to reports, first time parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are having problems. Sources say the couple, who welcomed daughter Harlow in January, is arguing all the time and Richie has fled to her mother’s home.

The insider claimed Richie left to make a point. “This was her way of sending Joel a message. Nicole loves him, but things need to change,” says a source.

The socialite allegedly flew to New York after another argument and Madden followed soon after. “She was just in a miserable mood and there was obvious tension,” a witness said.

The couple shook off some of the rumors after appearing at a charity event together.
