Golden Girls star Beatrice Arthur died early Saturday morning. Arthur died at her Los Angeles home surrounded by family. A family spokesman told the Associated Press that the actress had been suffering with cancer. Arthur was 86.
Bea Arthur started on Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof and later in Mame. She later starred in the ‘70s TV series Maude and then on The Golden Girls alongside Estelle Getty, Rue McClanahan and Betty White.
Arthur is survived by her two adopted sons Matthew and Daniel.
