Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal to Marry!

Ryan O’Neal says he has asked longtime girlfriend Farrah Fawcett to marry him. Despite Fawcett “fighting for her life,” O’Neal says he has proposed and she said yes.

“I’ve asked her to marry me, again, and she’s agreed,” O’Neal, 68, tells Barbara Walters in an interview for 20/20. “We will, as soon as she can, say yes. Maybe we can just nod her head,” he says of Fawcett, who is battling anal cancer. “I used to ask her to marry me all the time. But…it just got to be a joke, you know. We just joked about it.”

Fawcett and O’Neal have been together since 1982 and have a son, Redmond O’Neal. The actress, 62, was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. She began treatment and was declared cancer free four months later. In May 2007, Fawcett learned the cancer had returned and she began aggressive treatment in Germany.
