Farrah Fawcett was laid to rest yesterday after a private funeral at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
Fawcett’s longtime partner Ryan O’Neal and their son Redmond O’Neal gathered with close friends and family for the hour-long service Tuesday afternoon. Among the 200 guests were Kate Jackson, Marla Maples, Joan Collins and Tatum O’Neal. Fawcett’s longtime friend Alana Stewart and doctor Lawrence Piro delivered the eulogies. Ryan and Redmond served as pallbearers.
“Goodbye sweet girl. [Farrah] never felt sorry for herself during her illness ... she fought cancer furiously. She's the most beautiful angel in heaven. She always seemed so indestructible,” Stewart said.
After the service concluded, vans shuttled guests to the reception at the Jonathan Club, where a band played Fawcett's favorite songs, including those by Van Morrison. Fawcett, 62, died last Thursday after a long battle with cancer.
