Kate Gosselin appeared on the Today Show on Monday morning for her first live TV interview since filing for divorce from husband Jon Gosselin on June 22.
The newly single mom of 8 tells Meredith Vieira that she is “determined to hang in there” and her only concern is “the health and well being of my children.”
When asked about Jon’s relationship with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate’s tummy tuck, the reality star admits the situation is “hurtful” but says, “I was shocked. But, to be honest, that’s his life.”
While Jon has moved on quickly, Kate says she will take her time in moving on. She also explained why she hasn’t taken off her wedding ring. “I don’t want to upset [the children],” she says, adding that the sextuplets and twins “know that it’s my ‘married to Daddy’ ring.”
"Jon and Kate Plus 8" is on tonight on TLC.
