Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is “devastated” by the beating death of her fiancé Ashley Jewell. Jewell, known as A.J. to friends and family, was beaten to death Saturday in a fight in the parking lot of Atlanta strip club Body Tap.
“His death comes on the heels of the death of my beloved Uncle Ralph and with both of them gone, my heart is heavy with grief,” Burriss, 33, said in a statement Sunday. "I had spoken to A.J. two hours before I got the call that he was in the hospital. Never in a thousand years did I think it was going to be the last time I heard his voice. He was taken way too soon. There are so many things that I should have said to him, wanted to say to him ... But now it's too late.”
Jewell, 34, died in an Atlanta hospital of blunt force trauma. Authorities arrested Fredrick Richardson in connection with Jewell’s death. Richardson is charged with voluntary manslaughter. No other details were available.
