Diane Sawyer announced that Friday will be her last day as host on Good Morning America. Sawyer is set to replace Charles Gibson as anchor of ABC’s World News.
“I hope you celebrate with us this week, laugh with us this week,” Sawyer told viewers Monday.
Sawyer has filmed 2,881 episodes of GMA. She will take a week off before starting World News on December 21.
