Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have decided to sue the British tabloid 'News of the World' after the newspaper published an article on January 24th, claiming Brangelina were separating and had already agreed on the division of property and the custody of their children.
“We can confirm unequivocally…that the allegations published by the News of the World are false as well as intrusive,” the couple’s lawyer, Keith Shilling, said Monday in a statement.
Jolie and Pitt had requested the paper retract the allegations but 'News of the World' decided not to honor that request, which lead to the lawsuit.
According to the article Jolie or Pitt, had met with a divorce attorney in December and the pair came to an agreement on a split in January. The newspaper added that the agreement had been signed last month and that the separation would occur imminently.
Jolie and Pitt were spotted together Sunday at the Super Bowl. They cheered on the New Orleans Saints with their 8-year-old son Maddox.
