Thank God! MTV reps have confirmed that Jersey Shore will not be taking place in Miami, it's simply a "detour" for a spring-break type event.
While the cast of The Jersey Shore may have decamped to Miami this week for shooting on the second season of the controversial reality series, MTV says it's just the TV equivalent of spring break.
"Once the boardwalk heats back up, the series will return to the Jersey Shore to complete the season," says a network rep.
MTV also confirmed there was a casting call out for new, well-oiled, well-nicknamed guidos and guidettes to join the fun later this season, which kicks off July 29.
I mean, how could you leave Jersey? MTV's not that dumb...
