Jennifer Lopez is the New American Idol Judge!

Looks like Jennifer Lopez will be the new judge on 'American Idol!' Lopez is replacing Ellen DeGeneres, according to Deadline.com.

"We've learned a deal was closed earlier this week under the utmost secrecy," reports the Web site, which states Mrs. Marc Anthony opted to do this because her "singing and acting career has been on the skids after her recent movie failed at the box office in the spring and she was dropped by her record company Sony Music Epic Records this past winter."

It was announced earlier that Ellen called it quits after just one season on the show. In a statement on her blog, Ellen said that the judging gig was "more than I bargained for" and "it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings."
